Also at the New York Botanical Garden

I am anticipating my visit to the New York Botanical Garden next Tuesday, for the media preview of the holiday train show. I've been going there for decades. Every year displays new creations and brings out old favorites. However this seasonal event is not the only reason to visit the garden. There are other transient displays and other, permanent alterations to the garden's grounds.

For example. Forget the potted chrysanthemums that were offered for sale at big box stores. Blobs of color.
In the Nolen Greenhouses are spectacular chrysanthemums, lovingly cultivated and trained for 11 months.

Each of these cascades is a single plant, pinched, tweaked, trained for its rather brief display,
November 1 through 16. Then a pause, after which cuttings are rooted and training begins again.

And then there are the changes, developments that take longer and provide extended benefits.
The Everett Children’s Adventure Garden was created in 1998. In Fall 2023, it closed
for the first update since then. Projects completed, indoors and out, it recently reopened.

My attention is caught by an ADA-accessible Tree Top Walk, providing a series of walkways
that lead to the pine tree tops for children of all abilities. (And all ages! Me too!)

Does this not capture your attention and interest also? Everyone will want to stroll up.

I will be sure to make entries with a focus on both the kiku and the treetop walkway when next I visit.
